Who This Is For
-
Anyone injured as a driver or passenger in a Massachusetts car accident
-
Patients experiencing whiplash, neck pain, back pain, or headaches after a crash
-
Anyone unsure how to use their PIP (auto insurance) benefits for treatment
Why Whiplash Symptoms Often Appear Days Later
Whiplash, the sudden back-and-forth motion of the neck common in rear-end collisions is one of the most frequent car accident injuries. It's caused by the abrupt, forceful movement of the head, which can strain the muscles, ligaments, and other soft tissue in the neck. What makes whiplash tricky is that symptoms like neck pain, stiffness, headaches, and reduced range of motion don't always appear immediately, they can take 24 to 72 hours to develop. That's why it's important to get evaluated soon after an accident, even if you feel fine at the scene.
Understanding Your PIP Coverage
in Massachusetts
Car insurance after an accident can feel confusing, especially when you are already dealing with pain. At PK Health & Wellness, we help you understand your PIP benefits and get the chiropractic care, acupuncture, or massage therapy you may be eligible for after a motor vehicle accident.

Most car insurance plans include a $2,000 PIP allowance for treatment. Depending on your health insurance, you may also have up to $6,000 in additional PIP coverage to help with copays, coinsurance, and deductibles for acupuncture or chiropractic care. If you have MassHealth, Medicare, Medicaid, or no health insurance, you may be able to use up to the full $8,000 PIP allowance for chiropractic, acupuncture, or massage.

Our team can help review your benefits, coordinate with your insurance, and work directly with attorneys when needed so your treatment process feels easier from start to finish.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a police report to use my PIP benefits?
-
Not always, but it's a good idea to file one after any accident. Your insurance company can tell you what documentation they require.

What if the accident wasn't my fault?
-
PIP is no-fault coverage, meaning it applies regardless of who caused the accident.

How soon should I be seen after a car accident?
-
As soon as possible. Because whiplash and other soft-tissue injuries can take a day or more to become noticeable, an early evaluation gives us a baseline and helps support your claim.
Will this cost me anything out of pocket?
-
In most cases, no, treatment is billed directly to your PIP coverage up to the policy limit.

Can I use PIP and see my regular doctor too?
-
Yes, PIP can cover multiple providers; our team can coordinate with your other treatment as needed.
